Join Jakartadoyoga’s routine TTC activities with Melodie Batchelor

The Teacher Training Course takes 5 intensives/ + 300 hours of rigorous training that includes intensive classes with senior teacher (where you will also learn to adjust and give clear instructions), self practise / inquiries and assisting classes. Or you can join one intensive as “drop ins” to get insights of Iyengar Yoga method. Certified teachers or experienced students (minimum 3 years yoga experience) are welcome to take just one intensive (drop ins).
Anyone can join! If you’re interested in deepening your yoga practice/knowledge.
Assignments and class hours must be completed in timely manner. At the end of the teacher training you can apply for Yoga Alliance listing.
It will be a 5 times intensive program, 42 hours each (36 hours with Melodie Batchelor and 6 hours with Yusni Irene, our certified Iyengar yoga teacher). You are also expected to take Yusni’s class 3 times a week. On top of that, you are required to do at least 2 times self practice of 2 hours per week without teacher’s supervision.
Melodie Batchelor has the blessing of Geetaji, Prashantji and Abhijata Iyengar to train teachers in Indonesia. She is a Moderator, Assessor and Teacher Trainer in New Zealand for more than twenty years. She is currently the IYANZ Chair Person and have sat on the NZ committees for 20 years.
Yusni Irene receives Iyengar Yoga certification from the New Zealand board of assessment and has been teaching the method since 2008. She visits the Institute (RIMYI) annually to learn directly from the Iyengars ever since.

- The teacher training opens for students/ teachers practicing any yoga style - It will help ones to deepen their practice and to learn teaching from personal experience gathered during daily personal practice. For students, it will help transform themselves from practicing on the mat to teaching in front of the class.

Buat praktisi yoga Iyengar, Pune pasti termasuk kota impian yang ingin dikunjungi. Di kota asal olahraga bulutangkis ini almarhum BKS Iyengar pernah berdiam. Hingga kini warga dari berbagai belahan dunia berkunjung ke Pune untuk belajar di Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute atau dikenal dengan nama RIMYI.
Dalam kesempatan yang langka awal Desember silam praktisi Iyengar dari seluruh dunia menimba ilmu langsung dari Geeta S. Iyengar. Latihan yoga memang dapat dilakukan di mana saja. Tetapi latihan yoga bersama seribu orang dari seluruh dunia dan diawasi langsung oleh Geeta S. Iyengar merupakan pengalaman luar biasa buat Kharis Muhammad. “Itu pertama kali saya pergi ke India. Gak nyangka bisa yoga dilatih langsung Geetaji,” ujar praktisi yoga berusia 25 tahun itu.

The British Medical Journal recently published an analysis on the effects of too much salt in our diets.
According to their research, which looked at 13 studies from 1966 to 2008:
High salt intake is associated with significantly increased risk of stroke and total cardiovascular disease.

Setiap badan manusia berbeda satu sama lain, baik dalam struktur tulang, kelenturan otot, dan kondisi kesehatan fisik. BKS Iyengar menyadari hal ini, di masa awal berlatih yoga beliau bereksperimen dengan peralatan yang ada disekitarnya untuk membantu dirinya sendiri dan murid dalam berlatih yoga.

Trikonasana dalam bahasa sanskrit berarti segitiga; tri-tiga, kona-sudut, asana-gerakan. Dalam buku Light on Yoga, BKS Iyengar menyebutkan beberapa khasiat jika melakukan trikonasana secara benar:menguatkan otot kaki, membuka rongga dada, menghilangkan sakit punggung dan leher terkilir.
